CYBERBUSS BREAKDOWNS BEGIN
First it was our thermostat...
Then a hose leak...
then a vaccum leak...
then a spark plug wire...
then a blow out...
then our transmission linkage...
then our points...
Man da hot weather really makes it tough on old engines
This was a common site from inside da buss for many days
The upside was that Sir Loin and I repaired
everything that went wrong ourselves.
(or sometimes just got da buss limping back on da road).
Each time we made it to an autoparts store, or had some Idaho hero
come outta thin air and save da day fer us with some advice
or some part he just happened to pull outta his ass.
Every time that happened someone would sing the mighty mouse theme song
"here i am to save da day."
For me it was like an intensive mechanics seminar tour
each day we delt wid something else.
each day we stopped at an autoparts store.
Here is da hose that sprung a leak as a result of the thermostat
closing up and pressure building
our first Idaho Breakdown:
Here is Loin signalling out to da universe fer help
This time it was Sunday evening and we had to remain put until
Monday morning until autoparts stores would open again
Next auto parts store was 20 miles away.
But again and again we would breakdown in the most gorgeous places
that is what happens when you are in the middle of nowhere
...and like my buss guru Anton Berteaux once told me
when you break down in a buss, big deal
you just relax make some dinner, drink a few beers
and make yerself comfortable until you can take care of things
We never really had a hard time doing that...
On top of the buss wid cars zooming by Red
reads the Tarot cards about the future of our trip.
