The CYBERBUSS travels in two dimensions; over land and through C y b e r s p
a c e. Its silver painted crew of drummers, dancers, and stilt-walkers infiltrate
and invade bizarre events such as Burning Man, The Oregon Country Fair, Stone
Soup Festival, Cacophony Santa Rampages, the Art Car West Fest and the Solano
Stroll. They also travel to remote places such as Death Valley and Baja, Mexico.
At these events and remote places, the crew posts live video footage as well
as graphically enhanced digital photographs of their experiences online so those
not attending can take a virtual trip on the CYBERBUSS (via the website). Cyber~fhREaKs
all over the world experience each CYBERBUSS trip virtually and are forced to
use their imagination to fill in the blanks. Through its existence, a virtual
community of 700+ CYBERBUSS fhREaKs from 17 countries has arisen.
Armed with a satellite telephone and wireless modem, the CYBERBUSS takes
the Internet to remote places on earth. In this abrupt evolution of communication,
a new culture is born. This new "cyber~cultural existence" has virtually no
national or geographic boundaries. The founding fathers of the CYBERBUSS were
simply tired of spending so much of their life in an office environment. Many
of its key players are free lancers and independent contractors who greatly
prefer their office environment to be the great outdoors rather than cubicles.
